May 2026 had our team at LPAD outside a lot more, with a clear turn to warmer weather. We've been very busy with a large number of completed jobs, and also exciting new partnerships to help increase our company recognition. Our office has worked hard too, with our social media seeing constant daily posts and higher overall views than other recent months, which is another sign of our continued growth and dedication. With the strong foundations laid over prior months, we've really been able to continue working hard, as well as trying to refine and improve ourselves with any opportunity this month.
Jobs Completed & Places We’ve Been
In May, we've once again been all over Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, but with a greater variety of commercials, residentials, interiors, and exteriors. The exteriors themselves becoming more and more common as the month progressed and the heat rose.
Our month started the same as many, with a long bank holiday weekend. After the extra rest, the 4 remaining days of the week had us travelling all over for different jobs. We started with a large exterior refurbishment for a commercial client in North Hykeham, and a quick transformation of a lovely living room in Sleaford. The remainder of the week had our painters spread out at smaller jobs, like a master bedroom refresh in Dunston, another bedroom needing work in Horncastle, and some exterior work on a garage in North Carlton.
The next week started off with the team at Fiskerton and Nocton. The former for a residential lounge, landing, and utility needing some TLC, and the latter being an exterior project to renew the front façade of a large property. We then had the entire LPAD staff together for one of our bi-monthly meetings, which gives us an opportunity to discuss everyone's needs and go over the previous few months to talk about what's happened and what is new. The week was finished with a commercial client's apartment building interior in Pinchbeck, and a residential rejuvenation living room and bedroom in Great Gonerby.
The third and final weeks of May were very warm, humid, and busy. We had an interior in North Hykeham to begin with, followed by the starting of two larger jobs. One being an exterior repair of all windows on a large property in Grantham, and the other also an exterior redecoration but of two joined properties in Lincoln needing a masonry revival. This last week we've had two big projects ongoing, one indoors and one outdoors. The first is the continuation of the Grantham job keeping us out in the heat, and finally a large interior with a stripped back dining room in Market Rasen allowing our team to have some respite from the warm weather.
We've had a wide range of work this month, and we're grateful to those who have trusted us to take on their projects with care and professionalism. With almost 20 completed jobs and just about 40 quotes total, we've made May count. We planned and scheduled well, taking advantage of the heat to crack on with exteriors, and found the space to fit those smaller day jobs amongst the larger time sinks.
Building Company Recognition
May had us continue building our digital presence more, using the foundations created previous months. Our Facebook/Instagram pages were the main focus, as we've noticed this is what gathers the most interaction and following. However, we have also redesigned our website to be more current and usable, allowing us to have greater control over it, as well as making it simpler to use. This redesign with the website has come about because of a new partnership we have entered with Yell, who are now helping to manage backend digital environments and advertise.
On Facebook and Instagram, we've been focusing on scheduling more engaging posts, videos, and campaigns. This has meant that the posts we make take longer to finish and therefore we haven't posted as many, but they are higher quality, and more interactive and involved. In total, we created 25 posts. This includes a mix of videos and branded imaging, with videos such as painting timelapses and review reels, and images containing completed jobs, celebrations of national days, advertising, and birthday wishes. Our focus towards our online presence has continued to boost our enquiries and keep us engaging with our followers and client base.
Our new connection with Yell alongside our longer standing partnership with Magna Radio, have both been maintained with frequent meetings and contact. We've had seminars and networking events too, leading us towards new potential partnerships, whilst allowing us to stay close to those with work with and amongst.
Strengthening the Business
We've improved quite a few necessary things in May:
Sustained our need to build relationships with plant specialists and scaffolders in preparation for the busy summer season.
Continued to maintain our company lock-up to ensure ease of use, and in the process used local waste services, recycled all empty paint tins, and refunded any unused paint kept from projects where the client didn't wish to keep it spare.
We made a total of 35 trips to suppliers, including Brewers, Crown, and Dulux, to ensure our painters were never left waiting on the job.
Kept in touch with our staff with daily individual calls, alongside our weekly virtual team meeting.
Designed and printed a new LPAD leaflet, with the objective of distribution around our quotes and projects, which hopefully will have the impact of further brand recognition and new clients.
We obtained a new van for staff use, as well as maintained our current fleet with two MOTs during this month.
Finally, we have conducted interviews, looking for new painters to join our skilled team, who will help prepare us for the upcoming busy summer.
Overcoming Challenges
Challenges will always arise which need to be dealt with, and it’s important to discuss and evaluate them. So, here is what we dealt in May:
Keeping in common with previous months, we still had van trouble. Various problems appeared amongst our fleet of vehicles, creating a constant issue month-long to keep on top of and maintain. Alongside the addition of scheduling problems when a van needed to be serviced.
Staff clothing started to become worn and some members were lacking the correct work attire for the heat we experienced. So we had some new branded clothing made, including caps, t-shirts, and polo shirts.
We had overhanging exterior work from the end of Autumn 2025, which was waiting to be finished once the weather improves. With the period of great weather, we finally had an opportunity to ensure those projects were finalised, allowing us to get caught up with our bookings.
And, happens every month, we had little periods of staff illness here and there, which temporarily reduces team availability and creates more scheduling issues.
Despite these setbacks, the team worked hard, worked together, adapted quickly, and kept projects moving forward.
Team Moments
And of course there are always good moments to celebrate! We had a team night out, where we all enjoyed a local quiz night and got to let off some steam.
We also got to wish our director Martyn a very happy birthday this May, which always gives staff a morale boost and allows us to celebrate.
Industry Engagement
We had two networking events this month, one was a mixer of various industries meeting to learn and discuss changes within work environments, including the usage of AI in the modern day, storytelling with your brand, and new ways to market. The other event was a social for discussing a new local event that is currently being planned.
It is important to network and keep your company as up-to-date as possible, especially with anything local.
Looking Ahead
Within May we worked harder, continued with our business growth, ensured each and every client's satisfaction, and prepared and booked for a warm summer.
As our existing and new partnerships have continued to work well with us and impact our company recognition, our social media has gathered more interest, and we've had consistent enquiries and quotes coming in. So, with our stability and steady growth, we’re more than ready to carry on providing the highest quality painting and decorating into June!
Thank you to all our customers, partners, and team members for being part of LPAD's May 2026!
