June 2026 had us overall more inside than out, with over 2x more interior projects than exteriors. With the extremely changeable weather, it made scheduling increasingly difficult with rain stopping exterior work, so the focus on interiors was necessary. However, we've had a larger number of completed jobs than other recent months, and alongside more quotes and further focus on marketing ourselves well. Our social media has seen consistent, daily posts with more reels/videos, leading to high overall views, displaying our company recognition expansion. With the strong foundations laid over prior months, we've really been able to keep up the hard work, and continue the constant need to hone and improve our tactics.
Jobs Completed & Places We’ve Been
In June, we ended up mainly covering Lincolnshire properties, but still with a variety of commercials, residentials, interiors, and exteriors. The interiors being the main form of our work, with the odd exterior having good enough weather to go ahead as scheduled.
The month began with interior after interior, starting with Lincoln and Ludford. The team members in the Lincoln residential had an open plan dining/living room to paint and wallpaper, whilst the others in Ludford had a full redecoration of a large dining room also requiring papering. Later on in the week, we had a small kitchen to finish for a commercial client in Eagle, and then another short but sweet job in Cherry Willingham, where most rooms in a residential property needed some reviving.
The next week started off with the team split between two projects again. This time in Lincoln and Cherry Willingham, with both of these being different clients to last week. The former for a residential kitchen and utility needing some care, and the latter being another interior project to renew a bedroom with some paintwork and wallpaper hanging. Mid-week all of our painters had their scheduled appraisals to be completed whilst onsite, which allowed us to continue the good work and still give an opportunity for everyone to be reviewed and go over how they feel they have performed, as well as what they feel could be better. The remaining jobs this week were both in Lincoln, one for the interior of a large residence including all bedrooms and the kitchen, and another residential requiring the rejuvenation of their garden room, hall, stairs, and landing.
The third and final weeks of June brought difficulty with the heatwave that made the UK sweat. Whilst we contended with the heat and provided supplies for our staff to manage the heat, we had three projects on the same street in North Hykeham to begin with, followed by the starting of a much larger job in Wyberton. The three in Hykeham were varying sizes, the first being an entire internal redecoration, second requiring the renovation of most of the interior of a residence, and third was quite simply the repair of an external door frame. With many of the team diverted to those properties, we had the week end for the remaining team with the beginning of an exterior project in Wyberton. This client needed the facias and soffits on the outside of their large property prepared and painted, and because of the building size and task, the hiring of specialist equipment was necessary. The remainder of the month had us sticking around Wyberton and North Hykeham, with the late addition of another Lincoln-based commercial client requiring a rental's interior to be fully revamped.
This month we've had a range of projects needing various skillsets, and we're grateful to those who have trusted us to work on their properties with our signature care and professionalism. With 25 completed jobs and around 40 quotes total, we've really made the most of June's chaos. We kept our schedule running well, taking advantage of the heat to crack on with exteriors towards the month end, and used the opportunity of random rain to fit 17 total interiors amongst our 8 completed externals.
Building Company Recognition
June 2026 we continued attempting to build our digital presence further, continuing with the mainstay ideas formed during other months, whilst adding a few new exciting things. Our Facebook/Instagram pages were front and centre of our focus, as the most interaction and following we receive is still displayed there. We have also carried on adding to our new website to be more engaging and useful, hopefully bringing more site traffic, as well as providing us with better information/data generally. These small month-wide changes with the website will continue as we test the different ways it could work well for us, but for the foreseeable future we'll continue with the use of Wix for these developments because of the ease of rolling new updates.
On Facebook and Instagram, we've seemingly settled on our post types and style for what has been working the best. However, we're still working on the correct balance of these post formats, with the slow change to more videos/reels. This has meant each post on average takes longer to finish, and therefore the number of posts in a month hasn't reached our all time high, with a total of 33 posts in June. As usual, the style of posts are a mix of videos and branded imaging, with content such as painting/wallpapering timelapses, compilation reels, completed jobs, celebrations of national days, advertising, reviews, and birthday wishes. Our focus towards our online presence has continued to boost our enquiries and keep us engaging with our followers and client base. With a newly started TikTok company account (@LPAD.ltd) also, we hope to branch into other forms of media and audiences, hopefully with some noteworthy results in July.
Our relationships with Yell and Magna Radio have both been maintained with frequent contact, but as for networking events, June contained none. This seems like a step back, but we simply were too busy maintaining the business, current relations, and working hard for our client's satisfaction, that it was impractical and seemed a loss of better-used time.
Strengthening the Business
We've improved a few necessary things in June, as always:
Sustained our relationships with plant specialists and scaffolders in preparation for the busy summer season, alongside beginning enquire for their use and order some.
Continued to maintain our company lock-up to ensure ease of use, and in the process used local waste services, recycled all empty paint tins, and refunded any unused paint kept from projects where the client didn't wish to keep it spare.
We made a total of 44 trips to suppliers, including Brewers, Crown, and Dulux, to ensure our painters were never left waiting on the job.
Kept in touch with our staff with daily individual calls, alongside our weekly virtual team meeting every Monday.
Designed and printed Comp. slips to go with our LPAD leaflets, and then began to distribute to new home owners in Lincoln (50 total so far), which has already taken effect with a couple enquiries received. Hopefully, this will continue to work well as we distribute more, and have the impact of further brand recognition alongside potential new clients.
We obtained a new vehicle for staff use, as well as maintained our current fleet with an MOT during this month.
Designed and ordered three van sign writing kits, so that we can ensure all of our newer fleet vehicles are branded with the LPAD logo, slogan, and contact details.
We took the time to provide IPAF and PASMA training to one of our newest team members, ensuring our team is capable and qualified.
Finally, we have continued to conduct interviews all June long, looking for new painters to join our skilled team, which has developed into trial shifts for a few prospective staff. With all going well, we hope our team size increases to help continue to prepare us for the upcoming busy summer.
Overcoming Challenges
Challenges will always arise which need to be dealt with, and it’s important to discuss and evaluate them. So, here is what we dealt in June:
As seems far too common, we continued to have various small van issues. Problems appeared within a couple vehicles, giving us a consistent issue month-long to keep on top of and maintain. Alongside the addition of scheduling problems when a van needed to be serviced.
We had constant and ongoing diary management trouble, as a result of the seemingly random weather all throughout June. With the sudden spots of rain at the month-start, any scheduled exteriors had to be pushed back. Then, with the brutal heatwave that swept the UK mid-way, the remaining exteriors could be attempted, whilst ensuring that our staff were well looked after with the supplies necessary for such heat. These welfare checks included supplying a stock of cold beverages to each team member, allowing them to bring any heat-resisting equipment (fans, fabric to wet, etc.), and asking the clients if they would kindly allow us to start earlier in the day to avoid the hottest times of the day.
And again, this month we had two periods of staff illness, which is inevitable but it temporarily reduces our team availability, alongside creating more schedule issues that need to be resolved immediately.
Finally, these schedule-affecting issues created less time to put towards endeavours such as, engaging in industry events and attending networking events. Hopefully, within July we'll be able to make more time for these morale boosts, and ensure we're seen interacting with industry.
Despite these setbacks, the team worked hard, worked together, adapted quickly, and kept projects moving forward.
Team Moments
No matter what, you should always take the time to celebrate the good bits! Whilst we were busy and stressed this June, the fact we managed to stay on top of the weather and make sure our clients were satisfied can't be overstated.
We didn't just get by either, we've managed to fit in interviews, trial shifts for new staff, training, all of our marketing strategies, and made time for a little celebration on sausage roll day, where we gave the team a little treat.
Industry Engagement
As stated prior, we haven't managed to attend any events this month, however we did intend to travel to Birmingham for the Painting and Decorating Show. We've seen that it went very well this year, and we hope to be able to attend the next one!
Looking Ahead
Within June we worked harder than ever, through rain and (very hot) shine. We continued to grow our business with new staff members incoming, managed to provide each and every client with great satisfaction, and started to feel the heat and busy months headed our way.
As our existing partnerships keep functioning well and boost our business, our social media stays strong with consistent posts and interest. We've had a reliable number of quotes and enquiries flooding our inboxes, maintaining constant work for us despite the great amount of projects we've perfected. So, with our tried and tested foundations, and attempts to grow and improve further, we’re set to keep providing the highest quality painting and decorating in Lincoln for July!
Thank you to all our customers, partners, and team members for being part of LPAD's June 2026!
