April has been a busy and hot month for us at Lincoln Painting and Decorating. As we moved into April, we've noticed the dramatic change in enquiries gained and exteriors projects requested. We’ve continued adding to the strong foundations we laid in March around all areas of the business, but mostly by focusing heavier on LPAD socials, alongside new partnerships and advertising campaigns helping us become more of a well-known name.

Jobs Completed & Places We’ve Been

Throughout April, our team of painters have been out all around Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire once again, but this month we've had a long-term mainstay in our schedules of a large exterior overhaul in Corringham.

Our start of the month began similar to most, with a 4-day weekend, providing the rest necessary for us to dive head on into starting Corringham right. With most of our painters dedicated to that exterior excursion, the others were dotted at various smaller jobs in Grantham, Timberland, and Lincoln. All of which were residential interior remedial works, that could fit into our diary well around Corringham.

Our next week had us initially continuing the interior works in Timberland from the week before, which ran into later in the week before it was completed. As well, the week started with a larger residential revival of a flat on Newark Road, for a recurrent client of LPAD. These projects gradually blended into moving back to our ongoing exterior project as the weather returned later in the week, with our painters scheduled for carrying on with Corringham and any space left given to a quaint residential master bedroom renewal in Dunston.

The remaining week and a half of April had us providing finishing touches to Corringham, alongside the removal of hired equipment and scaffolding once done, which signalled the end of the project keeping us basking in the sunshine. We had some separate large jobs begin though; another residential with an entire interior needing a renovation in Nettleham, some commercial interior rooms to the ongoing work we do in Ewerby for a repeat customer, and finally a smaller residential with a living room and den room requiring some TLC in Canwick.

We’ve continued to ensure our working relationships with local businesses and companies, such as The Finch Hatton Arms Restaurant & Hotel, are maintained by completing several jobs on their behalf, throughout this last month of April.

With our smaller commercial works this month and our larger and more numerous residentials, we’ve pressed forward into the year further still maintaining our standards of quality and professionalism wherever we’ve worked. It is fantastic to see repeat clients and new customers coming to LPAD for their decorating needs, and thank you for allowing us to remain a staple of decorating services in Lincoln and surrounding areas.

Adding To Company Recognition

April saw us build on our digital advertising foundation further and further, as we saw a large increase of interactions online from our efforts last month, mainly on our Facebook page. This has meant we have focused greater on Facebook with attempting to schedule more engaging posts, videos, and campaigns. In total, we managed to somehow squeeze 34 posts in! We have tried branching into various groups within social media, with the creation of reels displaying timelapses of our painting, and videos such as slow motion paint pours. This has continued the boost to enquiries seen in March, and thankfully kept us connecting with client base.

We have continued our advertising with Magna Radio, and with LPAD newly becoming listed on Magna's website, it has ensured that our reach through local advertising has expanded. Alongside this we have created a new partnership with Yell, hopefully which will only add further to our reach and company recognition further.

To add yet another increase, this month we independently created and sent out five email campaigns, in contrast to the four last month. We have seen that it is key step in maintaining healthy communication with our customers and keeping people up to date with what we offer.

Strengthening the Business

We've improved a few necessary things in April:

Continued building relationships with plant specialists and scaffolders in preparation for the busy summer season.

Cleared and tidied our company lock-up to ensure ease of use, and in the process used local waste services, recycled all empty paint tins, and refunded any unused paint kept from projects where the client didn't wish to keep it spare.

We’ve racked up many more miles, making almost 30 trips to suppliers, including Brewers, Crown, and Dulux, to ensure our painters were never left waiting on the job.

Overcoming Challenges

Same as March, April gave us some challenges to contend with, and it’s still important to discuss and evaluate them.

Somehow we still had a van have a brake light failure, which needed replacement bulbs, creating a consistently small but annoying issue in both March and April.

We've had some issues with paints used on projects, which caused us to spend longer on jobs than necessary, and also spend more money on different paints to fix the issues that arose.

Some scheduling conflicts with equipment booked, which were necessary to be used, has left us waiting to complete jobs. This created timing issues with clients, and impacted the scheduling of our diary, but thankfully the clients were not impacted greatly and we could move booked slots around to make it work.

And, as is bound to happen, we had little periods of staff illness here and there, which temporarily reduces team availability and creates more scheduling issues.

Despite these setbacks, the team worked hard, worked together, adapted quickly, and kept projects moving forward.

Team Moments

And of course there are always good moments to celebrate! The team really pushed, and worked exceptionally together, to finish Corringham in good time and to a very high standard.

Industry Engagement

At the end of April, we had an important meeting to learn about all of the changes, big and small, within employment law. Keeping yourself up-to-date and protected is always a good choice, and a great way to head into May 2026.

Looking Ahead

Within April we worked hard, continued to grow as a business, ensured client satisfaction, and kept preparing and booking for summer.

As our new partnerships have begun to impact our company recognition and awareness, our social media has gained popularity quicker, and we've had more quotes and bookings arrive into our inbox. So, we’re excited to continue with this new energy and pace into May!

Thank you to all our customers, partners, and team members for being part of LPAD's April 2026!
