March has been a full-on month for us at Lincoln Painting and Decorating. As we move into the busier spring period, we’ve been laying strong foundations across all areas of the business, whether that’s on-site, in the office, or behind the scenes.

Jobs Completed & Places We’ve Been

Throughout March, our team has been out across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire delivering our services far and wide.

Our first week began in Tuxford with a full interior redecoration project, which was completed that same week for a residential client. In addition, we had another complete interior makeover in Nettleham which we started at the end of February, and finished early March.

Our next week took us to Ewerby, for a repeat commercial client with a large interior spruce-up of a hotel, and then to Harby for a smaller refresh to a quaint property entrance. The third week took us all throughout Lincoln, with little restorations here and there. The main undertaking being a living room overhaul, with a wonderful wallpaper featured on a chimney breast.

The month was ended with our painters enjoying the brief sunshine, restoring the exterior of a residence in Fiskerton, and then onto Corringham for another outside excursion, scaffolding and refurbishing a sizable property. The latter job taking us far into April, providing a strong backbone and mainstay in our schedule. These exteriors were remnants from a rainy end to last year, making them unable to be finished prior to now.

We’ve also ensured our working relationships with local businesses, such as Pygott & Crone, are maintained by completing several jobs on their behalf, throughout this last month.

From these residential refreshes to larger commercial renovations, we’ve continued to maintain our standards of quality and professionalism wherever we’ve worked. It’s been great to see repeat clients and new customers alike trusting us with their spaces.

Growing Our Presence

March saw us step up our digital advertising, as we attempted to make ourselves louder in online spaces, like our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, with engaging posts, videos, and campaigns. This has already started to boost enquiries and allowed us to connect with customers both old and new.

We also partnered with Magna Radio to expand our reach through local advertising. This is an exciting step for us as we continue to grow brand awareness in the region.

Alongside this, we independently created and sent out four email campaigns. Which is another key step in strengthening communication with our customer base and keeping people up to date with what we offer.

Strengthening the Business

Internally, we’ve made some important improvements to how we operate:

Began building relationships with plant specialists and scaffolders in preparation for the busy summer season.

Designed and created new marketing materials, including a tri-fold leaflet for distribution and an A5 informational booklet to leave with customers after quotes.

We’ve also been busy racking up the miles, making over 25 trips to suppliers, including Brewers, Crown, and Dulux, to ensure our teams always had what they needed on the job.

Overcoming Challenges

Like any business, March came with its fair share of challenges, and it’s important to discuss and evaluate them.

Three of our vans had brake light failures, all needing replacement bulbs, creating a small but annoying issue mid-month.

We had two vans out of action, with one experiencing clutch problems and the other encountering turbo issues. This caused a large amount of disruption to scheduling and transport, but displayed a core fault which has allowed us to prevent the issue reoccurring in the future.

And, as is common in spring, we had a few instances of staff illness, temporarily reducing team availability and creating scheduling issues.

Despite these setbacks, the team pulled together, adapted quickly, and kept projects moving forward.

Team Moments

It wasn’t all work and problems to solve though! We also had two birthdays in the office, giving us a chance to celebrate the team and a substantial boost to our morale.

Industry Engagement

We rounded off the month with a visit to Crown Trade Day, where we explored new products, connected with suppliers, and stayed up to date with industry developments. Of course got some freebies too!

Looking Ahead

March has been a month where we grew, learned, and prepared for the coming months. With stronger systems in place, new partnerships forming, and a busy season ahead, we’re excited to carry this momentum into April and beyond.

Thank you to all our customers, partners, and team members for being part of March 2026!
